Pokemon GO Battle League Preseason: Get Ready for the Ultimate PvP Challenge

Pokemon Go Battle League – 5 Essential Details For You To Win

Today, we’re diving into the first details of the upcoming Pokemon GO Battle League Season 0 (Preseason). This is just the beginning of the rollout for this exciting new feature, and four key dates will mark the progression of this initial season, setting the stage for future competitive play.

The Pokemon GO Battle League is a PvP competition where trainers can battle real players online in a thrilling triathlon-style event. Let’s break down what’s coming!

The Rollout Begins!

The system rollout began on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, after a brief pause earlier in the week. The preseason battles will start this week, as announced by the official Pokemon GO Twitter account.

The announcement made it clear that the system is being rolled out gradually, and players will gain access to the Battle League in waves. You might be able to jump into a league match before your friends, so keep an eye on your game!

Preseason and Season 1 Start Times

The preseason is designed to let players practice before the official start of Season 1. This means that your battles during the preseason won’t count towards your final Season 1 ranking. However, they will allow you to familiarize yourself with the format and get ready for the competitive season ahead.

UPDATE: On January 29, 2020, after resolving some issues, the first part of Season 1 started early. The initial plan still stands: the Master League begins on Monday, February 24, 2020, at 1 PM PST. Niantic has indicated that more information about the end of preseason and the official start of Season 1 will be shared soon.

Pikachu Libre Unveiled!

One of the most exciting announcements is the reveal of Pikachu Libre—an exclusive and special version of Pikachu decked out in a wrestling costume, available as a reward in the Pokemon GO Battle League. This rare Pokemon is bound to become a fan favorite for those who succeed in the battles.

Basic vs. Premium Play

The Pokemon GO Battle League offers two modes: Basic and Premium. Basic play is free, allowing everyone to participate. However, the Premium Battle Pass offers enhanced rewards for victories and reduces the number of wins required to encounter certain Pokemon. It’s important to note that Premium mode won’t affect your ranking—it just speeds up the rewards you can earn.

Keep Moving!

While you can battle online from anywhere, Pokemon GO Battle League still emphasizes physical activity. To enter a Battle League session, you’ll need to walk at least 5 kilometers—or you can use Pokecoins to pay for a “Battle Now” pass if you don’t complete the full distance. The cost of this pass decreases as you get closer to the 5 km goal, but you must walk at least 2 km no matter what.

The Pokemon GO Battle League is designed to keep players active while offering a new, engaging way to compete against others around the world. Whether you’re a seasoned battler or a newcomer, this system is packed with features and rewards that will enhance your Pokemon GO experience.

Get ready to hit the battlefield and see you in the league!
